This 3,200 sf 4 Bedroom/ 4 Bathroom single family residence in Santa Monica made it into magazines in the late 90’s when Koning Eizenberg AIA left their mark and created the “Crate & Barrel” house, a remodel and addition to a 1940’s Bungalow. Our goal was to update the aesthetics and functional flow of the house to embrace a modern 21st century feel. Bspk opened up the floorplan to enhance the accessibility to the back yard and maximize the indoor/outdoor experience. We also updated all surface materials and contemporized the bathrooms, closets and kitchen. In addition, changes in zoning codes allowed us to add an 800 sf 2 Bedroom / 1 Bath ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) to the top of the existing detached three car garage that both contrasts and compliments the main house in its simplistic, cutting-edge design.
