Bestor

We lived in our home for 27 years. It sheltered us, kept us safe, and held our family’s memories. Losing it felt like losing a loved one. In the beginning, the thought of “replacing” our home felt impossible—almost like a betrayal.

That began to change when we met Roman and Chris. Our contractor spoke so highly of their professionalism and their sensitivity to what had happened in the Palisades, and a trusted friend gave us the highest recommendation of Roman’s character.

“When we met them, we knew instantly we didn’t need to look further. They were professional, yes, but also deeply empathetic to the trauma our entire community has carried.”

The turning point for us came when they showed us their very first hand drawings. There, among the sketches of our new home, stood our beloved old sycamore tree. That simple detail brought me to tears. It was as though they had reached into our grief and gently handed us back a piece of hope. In that moment, we realized this new home could carry forward the spirit of what we lost while giving us a new beginning. Later, when we visited a showroom together to see appliances, it all began to feel tangible—the dream of a new home was becoming real.

From the start, communication with BSPK has been open and constant. Every call and meeting brings progress. Every question we ask is answered quickly and clearly. The team they’ve introduced us to has been as sensitive and diligent as they are, moving us steadily toward permits, design, and, ultimately, rebuilding.

“This new home has a lot to live up to. We didn’t want to let go of the one we loved for nearly three decades. But day by day, that sadness is giving way to excitement. With Roman and Chris guiding us, we’re beginning to fall in love with the idea of our new home—rooted in memory, standing in the shadow of our old sycamore tree.”
